Aerodynamic Analysis of Hunting Arrows: Implications for Performance and Safety.

Abstract

At the official request of a national Fish and Wildlife Department of one of our member countries, the European Bowhunting Federation (EBF) Scientific Committee conducted a controlled field experiment to determine the maximum range of a modern hunting arrow, both with a field point and a fixed-blade broadhead. Despite anecdotal claims, no rigorous, peer-reviewed data existed on the real-world range of arrows equipped with hunting points.
